Job summary

Caring Acres seeks a compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our rehabilitation team. Under the supervision of a licensed OT, the COTA will help residents develop, recover, and maintain daily living skills for greater independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, leading interventions for ADLs, and collaborating with nurses and physicians to track progress and outcomes. A patient-focused, team-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current state licensure/certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic interventions focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist residents with mobility, strengthening, coordination, and adaptive techniques.
• Monitor resident progress and document treatment outcomes accurately and timely.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals and home exercise programs.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and professional standards.
• Ensure a safe and supportive therapy environment for all residents.
