Job summary

CNS Healthcare seeks a Driver for the Motor City Clubhouse in Detroit to transport clients and support clubhouse operations. The role includes driving, assisting clients in and out of the van, and performing related duties on schedule.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of transportation experience, and a valid Michigan license/CDL. Excellent driving record and ability to operate a wheelchair lift are required; MS Office proficiency is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of transportation experience.
• Valid Michigan Operator or CDL license.
• Reliable transportation with proof of insurance.
• No more than 2 points on current driving record.
• Ability to use a wheelchair lift.
• Ability to work with persons with mental or physical limitations.
• Ability to drive safely in all weather conditions.
• Strong communication and professional conduct.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently when needed.

Responsibilities

• Transports persons served to various locations throughout the day.
• Performs driving duties and related clubhouse duties as needed.
• Review daily schedule and assist fellow drivers when not busy.
• Drive to and arrive at destinations as scheduled.
• Notify agency staff and consumer if running late.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain courteous interaction with consumers and staff.
• Adhere to laws and posted speed limits.
• Assist clients in and out of the van and operate wheelchair lift as required.
• Maintain vehicle fluids and report issues to supervisor.
