Job summary

The Salvation Army Northern Division Harbor Light Center is seeking a Cook to prepare meals for participants and staff in a commercial kitchen, while assisting with meal planning and special events.

This full-time role in Minneapolis requires a High School diploma or equivalent, ServSafe certification, and one year of relevant experience, with the ability to pass background checks and stand for long shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Cook, prepare, and store a variety of food using standardized safe food handling guidelines and meeting health code.
• Meet special dietary needs of participants as directed.
• Provide meal service (breakfast, lunch, dinner) in an inviting manner to participants and staff.
• Clean and sanitize food service utensils, dishes, cookware, serveware, equipment, and areas.
• Assist with meal planning utilizing ordered and donated food items, minimizing food waste.
• Assist with meal preparation and cooking for special events and meetings.
