Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with additional training.
• Minimum of six months experience in a Long Term Care Skilled Nursing setting preferred.
• Current Nursing Assistant Certification.
• BLS certification within six months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with meals, personal hygiene and incontinent care.
• Answers call lights promptly and maintains patient comfort and safety; adjusts beds, lights, and equipment and reports deviations.
• Obtains and sets up suction equipment; sets up oxygen; assists with ambulation and transfers; reports concerns to nurse.
• Takes vital signs and documents them; basic ROM exercises; assists with examinations and transports patients within the facility.
• Provides sitter care when assigned, ensuring patient safety and emotional support.
• In outpatient settings, prepares rooms, weighs and documents vital signs, assists physicians, delivers specimens, and maintains a stocked clinical area.
