Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Terrytown, LA seeks a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care under licensed nurses. You will assist with daily activities, monitor patient comfort, and ensure safety in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires current CNA certification, BLS and CPI within 30 days of hire, strong communication, and attention to detail. Preference given to hospital and telemetry experience; flexible scheduling may be required.

Qualifications

• Preferred - High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
• Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams.
• Completes documentation of patient related tasks.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
