Job summary

Ochsner Health is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant to support basic patient care under licensed nursing supervision in a hospital setting. You will assist with care plans, maintain a safe environment, document patient information, and communicate needs to patients and families.

Preferred candidates have hospital/telemetry experience and possess BLS and CPI certifications or are prepared to obtain them within 30 days of hire, with a flexible schedule to cover 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• CPI certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred hospital and telemetry experience.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule (24/7, weekends, holidays).
• Proficiency with computers and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Provides care based on patient age and criteria, appropriate to the ages served.
• Communicates patient care needs with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams.
• Completes documentation of patient-related tasks.
• Adapts communication to the patient population, privacy considerations, and staff interactions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
