Job summary

Patient First is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Maryland to support patient care at the Beltsville area center. You will assist nurses and physicians, take vital signs, manage labs and supplies, and ensure cleanliness and safety in patient areas.

You will work with a dedicated team, provide courteous service, and participate in ongoing staff activities. Qualifications include a minimum 18 years old, HS diploma, CNA certification, and about 1 year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly 4 to 7 hours at a time).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to attend scheduled CPR classes and code drills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Willingness to work at any center due to a staffing or center emergency or reduction of work.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the Maryland Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Locating patients, obtaining accurate vital signs, triaging, and preparing patients for exams.
• Understanding and using the electronic medical record system.
• Ordering lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed.
• Notifying Nurse/Physician when patient is ready for exam and communicating symptoms.
• Assisting Nurses and Physicians with patient care.
• Handling Physician and Nurse requests promptly and respectfully.
• Performing lab duties as assigned.
• Sterilizing and setting up instruments.
• Receiving and storing supplies; restocking treatment rooms.
• Reporting to the Charge Nurse before leaving at end of shift.
• Following guidelines from supervisors and physicians.
• Maintaining cleanliness of treatment area and OSHA-compliant cleanup.
• Washing, drying, folding, and restocking laundry.
• Attending staff meetings and operating medical/office equipment as trained.
• Completing checklists and Policy Manager tasks within shift.
• Being available to assist as needed; breaks may be interrupted.
• Fostering teamwork and maintaining a positive atmosphere.
• Providing warm, friendly service in all interactions.
• Understanding and performing all duties as assigned.
