Job summary

Jaybird Senior Living in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a caring Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our senior living community. The CNA will provide personal care, support daily living activities, and assist residents per ISP under supervision of Healthcare Coordinator.

Qualified candidates will have active CNA certification, high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, and at least 6 months of caregiving experience with seniors.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Minimum 6 months of caregiving experience, preferably with seniors.
• Compassionate, professional, and able to handle emotionally charged situations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, and assist with resident mobility.
• Comfort using basic technology for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs; report changes in condition to supervising nurse.
• Assist residents with daily living needs including hygiene, dressing, mobility, meals, and medication reminders.
• Support safe transfers, positioning, and ambulation.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents.
• Prepare and submit progress notes in a timely manner.
• Encourage resident engagement and participation in activities.
• Follow infection control, HIPAA, and community policies.
• Attend required in-service trainings and staff meetings.
