Job summary

The Virginia Department of Corrections seeks a Nursing Assistant (Part-time) at Beaumont Correctional Center to provide quality nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team. This position is wage-based, with restrictions on hours and no state benefits.

Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent and a Virginia CNA license. You will assist inmates with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and support health interventions as part of a secure, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid unrestricted Virginia CNA license.
• Knowledge of patient care, infection control measures.
• Ability to take and record vital signs and perform CPR.
• Ability to intervene in crisis or problem situations.
• Experience with computer use including Outlook and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Assist with activities of daily living for inmates while maintaining safety and accountability.
• Observe, document, and communicate interventions, treatments, and needs.
• Assist with mental health and physical needs of inmates.
