Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Certified Nurse Assistant or PCT program
• Current CNA or Patient Care Tech certification required
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues
• Good written and verbal communication skills required
• Ability to read, write and speak English, required
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians
• Prefer hospital experience

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.
• Adhere to department leadership instructions and perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Follows Standard Precautions and OSHA Guidelines.
• Maintain an organized, neat, well stocked resident unit.
• Prepare and maintain a record of observations and care given; document clearly and promptly.
• Assist with admissions to the unit and orient families to the unit.
• Maintain a safe, secure and comfortable environment for residents.
• Take and report vital signs; monitor intake and output.
• Provide care to minimize skin breakdown; ensure proper hygiene and positioning.
• Safely move or transfer residents and assist with lifting as needed.
• Provide meals and assist with feeding per orders.
• Observe and report changes to nursing staff in a timely fashion.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure quality patient care.
