Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Va Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation. The Direct Service Associate III will support nursing staff and promote safety and delivery of quality direct care for residents.

The role focuses on responding to residents' personal needs, assisting with ADLs, and participating in psycho-social activities while following individualized treatment plans. State licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general health practices for geriatric-age population; safety practices.
• Skills in assisting patients with ADL and personal care; communication.
• Ability to work in a team and in stressful environments; follow written policies.
• State Board License to practice as Nursing Aide in Virginia required.
• Experience in health care facility, acute or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist Nursing Staff to promote safety and quality direct care for residents.
• Identify and respond to patients' immediate personal needs; communicate with residents across shifts.
• Assist with therapeutic activities in a psycho-social treatment environment and follow individualized treatment plans.
