Job summary

Mercy Retirement & Care Center in Oakland, CA is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants to join our compassionate team. You will support residents with daily living activities, mobility, meals, and social engagement, while maintaining accurate charting and reporting changes to supervisors.

The position requires a current CNA/NAR/HCA license, CPR/First Aid certification, and proficiency in English. A background check and pre-employment tasks may be required per state guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus additional specialized training.
• Must have a current CNA/NAR/HCA license in good standing.
• Must have current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Must be able to read/write/speak sufficiently in English to perform duties.
• Background check, drug test, and may require fingerprint, physical, TB test per guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow resident ADL directives.
• Make daily chart notes on residents’ conditions and report changes.
• Assist residents with bathing, grooming, hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
• Assist in serving meals and participate in activities.
• Monitor schedules and assist residents as needed.
• Assist in admission and discharge of residents.
• Record vital signs; report changes as required.
• Provide safe transfers/ambulation and respond to calls promptly.
