Job summary

Mercy Retirement & Care Center in Oakland, CA is seeking compassionate nursing assistants to join our dedicated care team. This role involves direct resident support, ADL assistance, and daily charting to ensure high-quality care on a busy campus.

You will assist with bathing, meals, activities, and transfers, while maintaining safety and dignity for residents. A current CNA/NAR/HCA license and CPR/First Aid certification are required, along with background checks and TB testing as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus additional specialized training.
• Must have a current CNA/NAR/HCA license in good standing.
• Must have current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Must be able to read/write/speak English sufficiently to complete responsibilities.
• Completion of background check, drug test, and may require fingerprint, TB test per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow the resident’s individually designed ADL directives.
• Make accurate chart notes daily on residents’ conditions and chart on flow sheets; report changes to supervisor.
• Assist residents with bathing, hygiene, grooming, nail care, dressing, and other needs.
• Assist in serving meals and participating in activities with residents.
• Maintain clean, safe environment and assist with admissions, transfers, and routine care.
