Job summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).

Assists with basic health care needs including daily living activities, vital signs, and transfer techniques while following infection prevention policies. Supports dining, documentation, and team communication across shifts in a not-for-profit

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age 16.
• Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and recording vital signs.
• Communicate changes in resident condition to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transferring, repositioning, and walking; provide ROM and passive exercises.
• Assist with meals, snacks, hydration, and documenting care outcomes.
• Support wellness and recreational programs; participate in committees as needed.
