Job summary

Ochsner seeks a compassionate Nursing Assistant to support the plan of care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will help maintain a safe patient environment, document care activities, and communicate effectively with patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, and CNA certification with BLS and CPI to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computers, software and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication across diverse audiences.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe patient care environment.
• Provides patient care based on physical, psychosocial, educational and safety needs for the patient population.
• Communicates patient care needs with patients, families and staff, including multi-disciplinary teams.
• Completes documentation of patient-related tasks and adapts interactions to the patient population.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
