Requirements include Illinois CNA certification, English proficiency, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a nursing assistant with the Illinois Department of Public Health.
• Able to speak, read, write and comprehend English to use medical terminology on the job.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
• Good communication skills.
• Interest in working with older adults.
• General knowledge of the needs of geriatric residents.

Responsibilities

• Carries out nursing care within the scope of education and training as assigned by the charge nurse.
• Adheres to Presbyterian Homes' standards of care in the nursing department.
• Communicates properly with co-workers, supervisors, and residents.
• Interacts with residents to meet social and recreational needs.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Charge Nurse.
