Job summary

Midwest Health Inc. in Shenandoah, IA is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct and indirect resident care under licensed nurse supervision. You will follow policies, assist with activities of daily living, document care, and report changes in resident condition.

Responsibilities include helping with admissions/discharges, meals, mobility, personal care, and collaborating with the care team to ensure dignity and safety for residents.

Qualifications

• Regular worksite attendance.
• Must have a valid CNA certification that is in good standing with the state.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• If required to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes, must successfully complete the requirements contained in Company’s Motor Vehicles policy.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
• Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
• Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to meet the general health requirements set forth by State regulations and Company policy which may include medical and physical examinations.
• Employee is required to use a transfer/gait belt or to obtain the assistance of another employee when attempting to assist residents when lifting or carrying objects in excess of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Comply with the Community’s policies and procedures.
• Comply with nursing department policies and procedures.
• Report abuse/neglect immediately to supervisers.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and family information.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff.
• Assist in admission and discharge of residents.
• Assist residents with daily oral care, bathing, grooming, and personal care.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning.
• Perform and document resident vital signs and measurements.
• Prepare residents for meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Assist with activities and transportation to appointments or programs.
• Provide post-mortem care if required.
