Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the patient care team. The CNA provides direct patient care under supervision, assists with daily living activities, collects specimens, records vital signs, and supports the care team with routine procedures.

The position requires a VA CNA license, BLS CPR, and CPI within 90 days for Snowden at Fredericksburg. Must tolerate irregular hours and work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA license issued by the Commonwealth of VA required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• For CNAs at Snowden at Fredericksburg: CPI required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living (ROM, ambulation, positioning, hygiene).
• Assists with feeding, meal delivery, linens, bed changes.
• Collects patient data and specimens; records vital signs and reports changes to licensed staff.
• Prepares for admission/discharge; transports patients; assists with diagnostic tests and therapies.
• Maintains equipment and supports unit clerical tasks and data entry.
