Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support the patient care team with direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role also includes clerical and coordination duties to help the department run smoothly.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a CNA license issued by the Commonwealth of VA, and BLS CPR. Previous acute care experience is preferred; RN students may qualify with clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA license issued by the Commonwealth of VA required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• At least one year of acute care experience required; or six months if RN student with at least one clinical semester.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with daily living activities including ROM, ambulation, positioning and hygiene.
• Collects patient data and specimens and records vital signs and measurements.
• Transcribes and reports patient status to nursing staff and collaborates with the care team.
• Performs and explains designated patient care procedures and transports patients as needed.
• Performs data entry and documents patient care and related duties in EMR.
