Job summary

The Nurse Assistant at Saint Francis Healthcare System supports direct and indirect patient care under licensed nursing staff. Duties include bathing, hygiene, feeding, toileting, ambulation and positioning, with rounds to ensure safety and satisfaction.

The role requires basic care for patients across ages and strong communication within the care team. Education includes a high school diploma or GED and completion of a proper CNA or related program, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an unlicensed assistive personnel curriculum or documented related healthcare experience.
• LPN program outside the US and awaiting licensure.
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or equivalent course.
• Nursing licensure candidate who failed licensure in past 3 years.
• Certified nursing assistant as defined in 198.082, RSMo.
• BLS certification is required.
• Previous computer experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care such as bathing, hygiene, elimination, feeding and hydration, ambulation and positioning.
• Perform regular patient rounds and communicate with all team members.
• Support patient safety and satisfaction through attentive care and collaboration.
• Deliver age-appropriate care based on patient needs.
• Care for patients in an age-appropriate manner and document observations.
