Job summary

Adventist Health Portland is seeking a Part-time Assistant to provide personal nursing care under the supervision of an RN. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and help meet basic patient needs in a 12-hour day shift setting at our Portland location.

The role requires CNA certification and BLS, with a High School/GED or equivalent; prior hospital or acute care experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Required

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints and restorative care.
• Takes vital signs including, pulse and blood pressure.
• Helps patients with their basic needs, i.e., bathing, dressing and feeding.
• Performs a variety clerical duties, routing patient reports as appropriate, using organizational skills to keep unit running smoothly and meeting deadlines.
• Provides assessment data to certified nurse within the scope of practice (vital signs, patient verbal and nonverbal responses, etc.).
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
