Job summary

CHEHALEM in Newberg, OR is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily nursing care to residents according to care plans. You will greet residents, assist with daily living activities, document care provided, and coordinate with nursing staff.

The role emphasizes safety, confidentiality, and adherence to policies; CPR is preferred; must hold a valid CNA license in Oregon; physical tasks include lifting up to 25 pounds and assisting with transfers.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, an 10th grade education.
• Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with laws of the state.
• CPR Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use the wristband or photo card file to identify residents before administering treatments, serving meals, etc., as necessary.
• Report all changes in the resident's condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse as soon as practical.
• Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative, descriptive manner.
• Report all accidents and incidents you observe on the shift that they occur.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.
• Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
• Assist residents with daily functions (dental and mouth care, bath functions, combing of hair, dressing and undressing as necessary).
• Check residents routinely to ensure that their personal care needs are being met.
