Job summary

Avera Maryhouse in Pierre, SD is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our skilled nursing team. The role focuses on direct, personal care to residents, supporting daily living activities, and contributing to the patient care plan during the afternoon shift (2:00pm-10:30pm) with weekend and holiday rotation.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure residents receive respectful, high‑quality care while maintaining safety and dignity for each person.

Qualifications

• Must hold CNA certification and be licensed in the state of practice within 120 days.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Support nursing staff with routine and non-routine duties, including bathing, dressing, transfers, feeding, and mobility.
• Perform basic clinical tasks: check vital signs and document findings.
• Assist with restorative exercises and specimen collection as directed.
• Restock supplies and maintain a clean, safe unit environment.
• Provide emotional and spiritual support to families.
• Uphold resident rights and report any concerns per policy.
