Job summary

Medicus Spine & Joint in Gainesville, FL is seeking a dependable Medical Assistant to support clinical and patient-facing activities in a busy outpatient setting.

You will welcome patients, document vital signs, assist with examinations, and maintain organized exam spaces while collaborating with physicians and the care team. A CMA/RMA credential is preferred, with EMR/CareCloud experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant training or equivalent relevant clinical experience.
• Current CMA or RMA credential preferred.
• Experience in a physician office or outpatient clinic preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR; CareCloud experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and patient service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities without sacrificing accuracy.
• Professional appearance, dependable attendance, and a positive team attitude.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and prepare them for examinations and treatments.
• Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, medications, and patient concerns.
• Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and treatments within your training and authorized scope.
• Communicate provider instructions and help patients understand their next steps.
• Recognize patient concerns and promptly communicate them to the appropriate provider.
• Help create a comfortable, respectful, and reassuring patient experience.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies before patient appointments.
• Anticipate provider needs and keep patient visits moving efficiently.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized clinical spaces.
• Document patient information accurately and promptly in the electronic health record.
• Coordinate with front desk, scheduling, and clinical team members to support continuity of care.
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through without constant reminders.
