Job summary

Visiting Nurse Association Health Group seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to join the Primary Care team, supporting providers and patient workflows across four Community Health Center sites in Asbury Park, Red Bank, Freehold, and Keyport. The role involves hands-on clinical work, strong patient relationships, and a mission-driven environment.

The ideal candidate has a Medical Assistant Certificate, 6+ months of experience, EKG/phlebotomy skills, CPR certification, and a NJ driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school.
• 6 months+ of supervised medical assistant experience preferred.
• Experience in EKG and phlebotomy.
• CPR certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assists provider with patient workflow and maintaining clinical records.
• Executes orders and performs related duties as ordered according to standard operating procedure.
• Maintains laboratory proficiency and required log books and records.
• Assists in coordination, management and documentation of medications, supplies and referrals.
• Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies.
• Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance.
