Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Certified Patient Care Tech (PCT) to provide compassionate, hands-on care under RNs and therapists at University Medical Center. You will support patients, manage basic needs, and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 1 year of clinical care experience, and valid BLS. Certifications such as CNA, MA, CPCT/A or PCT are highly valued and encouraged.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of clinical care experience; CNA or PCT experience preferred.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Certifications CPCT/A, CNA, MA or PCT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform priority technical procedures and maintain a safe patient environment.
• Provide care services including CPR, ADLs, vital signs, phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Prepare patient room, chart in EMR, manage supplies and equipment.
• Prioritize tasks based on acuity and resources.
• Report abnormal findings to RN/Licensed staff and take corrective actions.
• Explain actions based on policies and experience.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to improve care.
• Seek supervision when needed and maintain continuity of care.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to team members.
• Clarify delegated tasks with the RN if needed.

Certified Medical Assistant (MA)

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

Certified Patient Care (CPCT/A)

Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT)

American Heart Association BLS

Non-Violent Crisis Prevention (CPI)
