Mercyhealth in Rockford, IL is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care across units. The position involves shift work from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with a schedule of two 12-hour shifts per week and rotation on weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, responding to calls, documenting care, and maintaining sterile, organized environments. As a frontline partner, you will float to units, participate in unit performance improvements, and assist with

• Completion of a CNA program.
• Current CNA certificate in applicable state.
• Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days.

Responsabilidades

• Provides patient care as assigned and per routine as defined by standards, shift routines and policies.
• Answers call lights promptly.
• Documents care provided according to standards.
• Maintains a clean work and patient environment.
• Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.
• Floats to various units based on identified patient care needs.
• Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.
• Training/precepting new partners with unit educator.
• Blood Glucose Monitoring (BGM) with lab personnel.
• Bladder scanner training completion and competency.
• Attaching patient to remote telemetry or bedside cardiac monitor.
• Managing and reporting collection devices.
• Colostomy, ileostomy or other fecal management systems: care and output measures.
• Indwelling catheters: care and output measures.
• Nasogastric tubes to suction.
• Surgical drains under direction of supervising RN.
• Competent in completing vital signs with reporting of abnormal values to supervising RN.
• Discontinue invasive devices under the direction of the supervising RN.
• Indwelling (Foley) catheters.
• Nasogastric tubes.
• Peripherally inserted intravenous catheters.
• Similar devices as appropriate.
