Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA or ABR-OE acceptable if MA certification not obtained).
• BLS certification required at hire for some Mercy Health locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at Bon Secours Mercy Health.
• One year of medical assistant healthcare experience preferred.
• Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and the community in a respectful manner.
• Prepare and review patient charts for upcoming visits by verifying diagnostic test results and other medical records.
• Measure vital signs such as pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Perform departmental-related clerical duties such as checking inventory, stocking supplies, tracking referrals, and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
