Job summary

Hireology seeks a compassionate caregiver to support clients at home in Kentucky. You will remind clients to take medications, assist with mobility, personal care, and daily activities including light housekeeping and meal preparation.

You will work with caregivers, nurses, and family to gather health information, report incidents, and respond quickly in emergencies. A high school diploma and CPR certification are required, with emphasis on safety and respectful bedside manner.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiver experience preferred but not required
• Current CPR certification (American Heart Association)
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner
• Outstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skills
• Physical endurance to complete required tasks
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Remind clients to take prescribed medications
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended home exercises
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own, including preparing meals
• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members
• Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family members
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
