Job summary

StoryPoint Group is seeking a compassionate Caregiver/Medication Manager to support residents in our Iowa community. You will provide personal care and administer medications per protocol, while preserving dignity and independence.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid, and state-specific training; certification as Medication Manager can be obtained on-site. Previous geriatrics experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety and empathy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to obtain Medication Manager certification on-site at community if not already certified.
• Previous Healthcare, Geriatrics or experience working with the elderly population preferred.
• Desire to work with geriatric population.
• Training per state requirements.
• Must have current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Bathe and clean residents as needed.
• Follow medication administration protocols for each resident.
• Assist in grooming of residents.
• Make beds and tidy rooms; keep spaces organized.
• Answer emergency calls promptly.
• Assist with bedpan, urinal, and bathroom needs; monitor continence
• Record vital signs and report abnormalities to nurse or Executive Director.
• Monitor skin condition and report changes to nurse or director.
• Assist with mobility and ROM; ensure safety during transfers.
• Respect residents’ privacy and dignity; uphold Resident Bill of Rights.
• Participate in activity programming and daily care routines.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge preparations.
• Complete daily assignment sheets as instructed.
• Follow infection control precautions and safety procedures.
• Report accidents, incidents, or suspected abuse immediately.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; perform day-to-day housekeeping tasks.
