Job summary

Sevita, including REM Community Services, seeks a Direct Support Professional in Bergenfield, NJ to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group-home setting. Pay is $19.71 per hour with on-demand pay and full-time benefits.

You will build meaningful relationships, support daily living activities, and encourage participation in community activities while promoting growth and independence for participants.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication, adaptability, multi-tasking, teamwork and time-management skills.
• Patient, compassionate, reliable and responsible behaviors.
• Valid driver's license with 1 year driving experience (not including permit).

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene and support participants with complex needs.
• Help participants achieve developmental goals like budgeting, exercise and nutrition.
• Develop real, meaningful relationships and support community participation.
