Job summary

Mercy Health in Lourdes Hospital is seeking a Care Companion to provide basic health care and supportive tasks under supervision. Responsibilities include sanitizing rooms, monitoring patient health, assisting with feeding and grooming, and maintaining safety while collaborating with the nursing team.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, clear communication, and reliable teamwork in a patient-centered environment on the Lourdes Medical/Surgical unit.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides support to the patient including, but not limited to, care and comfort, personal care and hygiene, toileting, and mobility.
• Creates a safe environment for patients.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Provides high-level customer service to all patients, patient's family, visitors and all employees.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs upon arrival and when leaving.
