Job summary

Astera Cancer Care seeks a Breast Surgical Nurse Navigator to coordinate all aspects of patient care at our new location in the greater Princeton area. You will educate patients, support families, and guide them through preoperative and postoperative phases with compassion.

Required are BSN (preferred), NJ RN licensure, and 2 years of oncology/breast health or surgical experience, plus BLS certification. Compensation ranges from $40 to $50 per hour with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in New Jersey.
• 2 years of experience in Oncology, Breast Health, or Surgical experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; Breast Navigator Certification or OCN Certification OR completion of Breast Patient Navigator certificate within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for breast cancer patients across procedural and post-operative phases.
• Provide education for newly diagnosed patients navigating treatment.
• Perform triage for post biopsy and surgical patients and coordinate follow-up care.
• Schedule procedures and ensure availability of pre/peri/post-operative instructions.
• Collaborate with plastic surgery, Radiation, and Medical Oncology teams.
• Act as liaison with clinical and administrative staff to maintain high-quality care.
• Review physician inbox and ensure timely communication and documentation.
