Job summary

Dignity Health is seeking a compassionate Doula to provide comprehensive emotional, physical, and informational support to pregnant and postpartum patients across the Pacific Central Coast Health Centers. You will advocate for informed choices, support childbirth preferences, and maintain patient confidentiality while coordinating with the care team in a culturally sensitive manner.

Responsibilities include prenatal and postpartum visits, labor support, and guidance on infant care and feeding.

Qualifications

• BLS CPR certification required within 90 days.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a birth team.
• Fluency in Mixtec and Spanish preferred.
• Experience providing doula support and serving diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide doula prenatal and postpartum visits with evidence-based information.
• Assist clients in articulating preferences and advocate for informed choices.
• Be present in Labor and Delivery, offering continuous emotional and physical support.
• Facilitate communication between patients, family, and medical staff.
• Provide postpartum support and guidance on feeding and infant care.
• Maintain confidentiality and document care per guidelines.
