Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Alexandria is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to assist the nursing team in providing compassionate care for adults and seniors with anxiety, depression and related conditions. You will perform routine patient care tasks, monitor behaviors, and document observations to inform treatment plans.

Under supervision, you will help with daily living activities, maintain safety, participate in de-escalation interventions, and ensure accurate communication of patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Current CNA certification preferred or 6 months direct patient care experience.
• Strong communication, empathy and ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support therapeutic milieu under nursing supervision.
• Perform vital signs, assist with ADLs, and document observations.
• Use de-escalation techniques and ensure patient safety according to policy.
• Assist with mobility, meals, laundry and personal belongings as needed.
• Communicate patient needs and care updates to nursing staff.
