Job summary

Haven Behavioral Healthcare, Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support the nursing staff and help maintain a therapeutic milieu for patients with mental health and substance use disorders.

The position requires a high school diploma or CNA certification, at least 6 months of bedside care experience, excellent communication skills, empathy, and CPR certification along with Oceans de-escalation program completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CNA certification preferred or 6 months bedside care experience.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions; strong verbal and written communication.
• CPR certification required and Oceans de-escalation program completion.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in maintaining a therapeutic milieu and perform routine patient care activities.
• Document vital signs, intake and output, nutrition and observations; communicate findings to the nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living, meals, hygiene and mobility as needed.
• Inventory patient belongings and ensure unit safety and cleanliness.
• Communicate patient care needs and outcomes to the nursing team with accuracy.
