Job summary

Haven Behavioral Healthcare, part of Oceans Healthcare, is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support nursing staff in a therapeutic milieu and provide compassionate patient care. The role requires CNA certification or six months of direct patient care experience, with CPR and de-escalation training preferred.

You will work under supervision to ensure safety and high-quality care for behavioral health patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CNA certification or six months of bedside patient care experience.
• CPR certification required or willing to complete Oceans approved de-escalation program.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to policies, procedures and Joint Commission standards.
• Assist in de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Inventory patient belongings and conduct unit safety checks.
• Document vitals, intake/output and patient observations accurately.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Communicate patient status to the nursing staff timely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
