Job summary

SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - Wentzville is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Aide to support patients in a fast-paced behavioral health unit.

You will assist with activities of daily living, observe patient behavior, record changes, and collaborate with RNs to deliver direct care. The role requires an Associate's degree in behavioral health or related field (or equivalent), no prior experience required, and BLS HCP certification.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in behavioral health or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
• No prior experience required.
• BLS HealthCare Provider (HCP) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Provides or assists with direct patient care and therapeutic interventions based on RN assignments.
• Observes and records patient behavior and activities; reports changes in condition and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
• Establishes a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients.
• Applies knowledge of group dynamics in participating in therapeutic groups and maintaining the milieu.
• Monitors patients to ensure safety, including rounds and safety checks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
