Job summary

LewisGale Hospital Pulaski is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician PRN to support nursing staff and deliver patient-centered care under RN supervision. The role focuses on direct and indirect patient care, group activities, and documentation throughout the care cycle.

Qualified candidates will have a Virginia CNA or completed Fundamentals of Nursing, with BLS/CPR and crisis intervention training within required timelines.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 60 days of start date
• CNA certification in Virginia or completed Fundamentals of Nursing course preferred
• Previous healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work under RN supervision to provide patient care and assist nursing staff.
• Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information.
• Document observations, patient responses, and changes during care.
• Lead or co-lead groups on goals, community, leisure, diversion, and wrap-up.
• Assist with mobility and transfers between units.
• Perform clerical duties such as charting and answering phones.
