Job summary

Maybelle Center is hiring a Behavioral Health Aide in Portland, OR. You will provide direct care and support under Behavior Support Plans, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to promote recovery and stability.

The role involves documentation in electronic health records, crisis intervention, and daily living support. Requires high school diploma or GED, English proficiency, and Oregon DHS training completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of experience with adults with serious mental illness or behavioral health needs preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Proficiency with computers for documentation and communication.
• First Aid Certification preferred.
• Additional mental health care or de-escalation certifications preferred.
• Completion of all mandated Oregon DHS training.
• Adherence to schedules and required certifications/education.
• Wear assigned name tag and carry keys, iAlert, walkie-talkie, and gait belt during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide interventions as outlined in Behavior Support Plans and Service Plans.
• Document care provision accurately in residents' Electronic Health Records.
• Read and follow Temporary Service Plans daily.
• Deliver individual or group skills training in self-care and hygiene.
• Assist residents with grooming, hygiene, and bathing.
• Support residents to take medications as prescribed.
• Assist with meal trays and setup for residents with impairments.
• Monitor behavioral health changes and escalate as needed.
• Encourage resident attendance at appointments and activities.
• Collaborate with care team and external partners; participate in care conferences and meetings.
• Provide crisis intervention using de-escalation techniques and safety protocols.
• Participate in fire safety drills and incident reporting.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment and protect resident privacy.
