Job summary

Casa Arena Healthcare is seeking a friendly Activity Assistant to enhance the lives of residents with compassionate, engaging activities. The role supports the Activity Director in assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing activity and recreational services tailored to individual resident needs.

You will help plan programs, encourage participation, document activities, manage volunteers, and assist with monthly calendars.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• One-year experience working in long term care is required.
• One year experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and delivering activity/recreational programs to engage residents and support functioning.
• Encourage resident participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, outings, religious, educational and recreational activities.
• Assist in completing activity documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and policies.
• Submit supplies list and receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintain precautions/limitations list on each resident.
• Assist in organizing and supervising the volunteer program, including recruiting/training volunteers.
• Assist Resident Council Meetings when necessary.
• Help plan community activities involving community, staff, families and residents.
• Draft and post a monthly calendar of activities.
