Job summary

St Catherine of Siena Healthcare in Caldwell, NJ, is seeking an Activity Assistant to join the Activities department. The role centers on delivering resident-centered activities that promote socialization, relaxation, recreation, and wellness for the elderly residents.

You will work with the Activity Manager, participate in planning events, and help maintain respectful, safe, and engaging programs that support quality of life in our small LTC setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with residents and staff effectively.

• Ability to perform basic math for figures and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate social and recreational events to promote continued wellness.
• Understand the cognitive and physical needs of the elderly population.
• Provide varied activities appropriate for the group’s age and abilities.
• Complete administrative duties including ordering supplies and newsletters with the Director.
• Comply with CMS reporting and documentation requirements.
• Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations promptly and professionally.
• Maintain residents' rights, dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
