Job summary

The Village of St. Edward is seeking an Activities Assistant to support a program of activities for residents in an assisted living/memory care setting in Wadsworth, OH.

The role emphasizes compassion, engagement, and community involvement within a Christ-centered care environment. We are looking for someone committed, kind, knowledgeable and respectful who can assist in organizing, directing and delivering activities that enrich residents’ lives while collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Valid Ohio Driver’s license in good standing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently; 50+ with assistance.
• Walk, stand and sit intermittently during the day.
• Availability to work on weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
• Understanding of the social, psychological and recreational needs of older adults.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Organize, direct, and carry out a comprehensive activities program.
• Support spiritual development, recreation, and educational activities for residents.
• Coordinate with staff to meet residents' needs.
