Job summary

Graham Windham is seeking a Content Specialist, onsite at the Bronx program, to oversee daily after-school programming and mentor Team Leaders and Instructors. You will focus on quality delivery, safety, and enriching activities, aligning with program goals.

The role emphasizes coaching, documentation, and collaboration with the Director to ensure effective, engaging content and supportive supervision for youth participants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalency with 2+ years of youth work, plus 1 year in supervision/oversight and staff coaching.
• Experience with youth from diverse, especially low-income, backgrounds.
• Track record of good customer service.
• Ability to design lesson plans or teach from a curriculum with outcomes.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop Team Leaders.
• Supervise the day-to-day flow of after-school and Summer Rising programs.
• Ensure safety and well-being of participants.
• Identify and implement engaging enrichment programs.
• Lead instruction in a content area and produce final projects or events.
• Complete program documentation (DYCD Connect, attendance, sign in/out, behavior/incidents).
• Assist Director with equipment and supplies management.
• Explain Graham Pillars and program goals to participants and caregivers.
• Build relationships with parents through regular communication.

About the Position

The full-time on-site Content Specialist will be responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day programming at Afterschool Program. The Content Specialist will focus on quality and delivery of services as well as coaching and development of Team Leaders and Instructors.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Directly coach and develop Team Leaders
• Supervise and manage the flow of the day for after-school, and Summer Rising
• Ensure the health, safety and well-being of program participants by providing supervision of activities
• Assist in identifying and implementing engaging enrichment programs
• Lead engaging, age-appropriate instruction in one designated content area that produces final project and/or culminating event
• Complete accurate program documentation as needed (DYCD Connect, attendance, sign in/out forms, behavior reports, incident reports)
• Work with the Director to secure and maintain all equipment and supplies needed
• Understand and communicate the Graham Pillars and the goals of the Afterschool Program to participants and caregivers
• Build trusting relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• High School Diploma or Equivalency with a minimum of two years of experience working with youth and one year experience in a supervisory/oversight position, including management and development of program content, staff supervision, training, and coaching
• Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds, specifically low-income communities
• Track record of good customer service
• Demonstrates ability to design lesson plans and/or teach from a qualified curriculum with evidenced outcomes
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
