Job summary

A regional trucking company seeks a qualified driver to operate a tractor-trailer, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws while transporting materials safely. Responsibilities include loading, unloading, maintaining logs, and performing vehicle inspections. Applicants must have a valid Commercial Driver's license and a clean driving record with no violations or accidents for at least three years. Qualifications

• Experience hauling steel is a plus.
• Minimum three years of operating flatbed vehicles.
• Driving record must be three years traffic accident and violation free.

Job description

Responsible for driving a tractor-trailer in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures for transporting various materials in a safe and timely manner to regional or local customers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for proper loading and securing freight to prevent movement and allow safe transport.
• Assist in loading and unloading as required.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Perform vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance before, during and after trips.
• 80Services truck with oil and fuel and keeps vehicles clean to maintain tractor-trailers.
• Keep the interior and exterior of the cab clean.
• Works with dispatch for delivery assignments and road service throughout the day.
• Reads bill of lading to determine assignment schedule.
• If necessary, report all incidents and accidents accurately and timely within the scope of the company and DOT required processes.

Experience

• Experience hauling steel a plus
