Salary: $19.00 - $20 / per hour

Job Description

The Companion Caregiver provides assistance with activities of daily living and certain “hands on” care such as personal hygiene, toileting, medication reminders, transfers, and ambulation. They also perform companion tasks like accompanying clients to appointments, maintaining a healthy living environment, personal laundry, light housekeeping, and similar activities. The provision of “hands on” care depends on state licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

1. Assist patients with personal care activities including bathing, oral hygiene, meal preparation, dressing, ambulation, and other needs.
2. Perform duties accurately and timely as assigned.
3. Maintain client confidentiality according to HIPAA standards.
4. Follow infection control procedures to safeguard clients.
5. Report abnormal findings or conditions to the office.
6. Adhere to company standards, policies, and procedures.
7. Arrive on time and complete scheduled shifts.
8. Represent the company positively at all times.
9. Show flexibility and adaptability to meet client needs.
10. Communicate effectively with office staff and indicate availability.
11. Follow time and attendance policies.
12. Provide required documentation (e.g., PPD, in-services) promptly and follow compliance standards.
13. Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Requirements

1. At least 1 year of recent hands-on personal care experience as a Personal Care Assistant.
2. Professional conduct and adherence to boundaries and policies.
3. Compassionate nature with strong interpersonal skills.
4. Effective communication skills, including proficiency in English.
5. Computer skills required.
