Job summary

Petco is seeking a Companion Animal Supervisor to lead the health and presentation of live animals in the Companion Animal and Aquatics departments while driving sales and customer experience.

You will coach partners to deliver confident, compassionate customer interactions, maintain high presentation standards, and ensure compliance with veterinary protocols and company policies. This full-time role operates on the sales floor with frequent animal contact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ year supervisory experience, ideally in a pet retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of companion animals, aquatics, and animal care practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Customer service and people development focus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety, and welfare of live animals in the Companion Animal and Aquatics areas.
• Coach and mentor partners to deliver confident, compassionate customer interactions.
• Drive sales, margin, and shrink goals through disciplined execution.
• Order live animals balancing welfare, inventory, and financial targets.
• Support Omni-Channel execution (BOPUS, ship-from-store, curbside).
• Lead on Duty and uphold safety, compliance, and operational standards.
