Jimco Maintenance, Inc. is seeking a full-time Compactor Maintenance Technician/Truck Leader to service supermarket facilities across North and South Carolina and Virginia.

This hands-on, field-based role operates as a single-person crew with a dedicated service truck, requiring strong mechanical aptitude and independent work in outdoor retail environments. The position involves travel throughout NC, SC, and VA, heavy lifting, DOT compliance, and reliable communication with the corporate office.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined with experience performing preventive maintenance and minor repairs on industrial or retail equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and complete field-ready repairs.
• Must reside within 25 miles of Belmont, NC and be able to travel throughout NC, SC, and VA.

Responsibilities

• Provide field-based maintenance and repairs as a single-person crew on a dedicated service truck.
• Travel to supermarket facilities across North and South Carolina and Virginia; operate in outdoor retail environments.
• Accurately record time worked, maintenance tasks, and reactive work orders; maintain safety standards and DOT compliance.

Jimco Maintenance, Inc. is a leading provider of maintenance and repair services across the Southeast. We are seeking a full-time Compactor Maintenance Technician/Truck Leader to service supermarket facilities throughout North and South Carolina and Virginia.

This is a hands-on, field-based role that combines mechanical service work with responsibility for a dedicated service truck and assigned territory. The position operates as a single-person crew and requires strong mechanical aptitude, reliability, and the ability to work independently in outdoor retail environments.

• Mechanically inclined with experience performing preventive maintenance and minor repairs on industrial or retail equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and complete field-ready repairs
• Comfortable working outdoors behind store locations in varying weather conditions
• Ability to climb, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Experience towing a trailer behind a pickup truck
• Strong organizational, time-management, and route-planning skills
• Effective communicator; able to work independently while coordinating with the corporate office
• Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and DOT requirements
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (5-year MVR review)
• Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of operating as a single-person crew
• Willing and able to travel throughout North and South Carolina and Virginia
• Must reside within 25 miles of Belmont, NC (truck parking location)
• Smartphone required for data and voice communication
• Must pass DOT physical, drug screening, background check, and federal Social Security verification
• Accurately record all time worked, including production, vehicle maintenance, administrative tasks, and reactive work orders

Compensation Structure

• Starting pay of $950 per week is based on completing 10 scheduled service locations per week
• Additional pay is available for completing mandatory reactive work orders and supporting backlog catch-up
