Job summary

Sydenstricker Nobbe Partners Lowville location seeks a Full Time Heavy Equipment Technician to diagnose, service and repair compact construction equipment, focusing on hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.

The role covers both shop and field work under the Mobile Service Manager. You will prepare accurate reports, document time and parts, and ensure deadlines and customer satisfaction are met.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with heavy equipment and/or compact construction equipment.
• Experience performing service repairs and maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to meet performance metrics.
• Experience using special tools and equipment for repairs.
• Familiarity with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with diagnostic procedures and tools.
• Proficiency with basic computer tasks; Service ADVISOR preferred.
• Teamwork and effective written and verbal communication.
• Must have a working toolset to perform duties.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

Position Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $20.00 - $30.00 Hourly

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned compact construction equipment.
• Repairs will take place in shop and in field with direction from the CCE Mobile Service Manager.
• Diagnose and repair compact construction equipment, with emphasis on hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.
• Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently; service reports, allocation of time, and tracking parts charged and returned.
• Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring customer needs and deadlines are met.
• Complete all scheduled repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensure equipment and parts areas are in excellent, safe operating condition.
• Adhere to all safety rules and maintain quality housekeeping in the shop area.
• Maintain equipment and supplies to avoid waste, prevent accidents, and damage to personnel and equipment.

Qualifications

• 2 years or more experience with Heavy Equipment and/or Compact Construction Equipment.
• Experience, education, skills and knowledge performing service repairs.
• Demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred.
• Experience performing repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following.
• Technical Manual procedures on machines of the technician's specialty.
• Experience with the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in off road, construction, or heavy equipment.
• Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
• Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR or other computer based diagnostic repair tools preferred.
• Experience working cooperatively in a team environment.
• Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred.
