Job summary

Roots Community Health is seeking a Workforce Program Manager to lead program implementation and continuous improvement of workforce processes in East Oakland. You will build strong relationships with community partners, supervise coordinators, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, on-site role.

Ideal candidates bring a public health or related background, nonprofit experience, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in public health, business administration, public administration, social work, or related field or relevant experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to assigned program coordinators in matters relating to personnel, finance, and administrative activities.
• Provide oversight to program coordinators in community outreach activities and events while maintaining related relationships with community-based and neighborhood organizations.
• Support coordinators in community outreach activities and events while maintaining all related relationships with community-based and neighborhood organizations.
• Assist program coordinators to develop, manage, and track budgets and spending.
• Assist program coordinators in the development of reports monthly, quarterly, and yearly to ensure effective compliance with established standards, contracted goals, and objectives.
• Make and recommend personnel decisions, including but not limited to promotion, transfer, and assignment of staff, and imposition of discipline.
• Provide timely and high-quality completion of all program deliverables.
• Use independent judgment and discretion to make decisions affecting the department and staff.
• Complete all required documentation and reports in a timely fashion, as required by contract guidelines.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision, agency meetings, and staff training.
